On August 18, around 11 a.m., a small lead-colored military vehicle with around ten people on board, leaving Shwepyi village was detonated (10) landmines by The King Peacock LDF, Singu PDF, and other local defense forces.
“When the car was hit by landmines, it no longer go forward and broke down. Three soldiers, including the major, were killed and four people are reportedly being treated and in critical condition at the hospital,” stated the LDF information officer.
“As military dogs are busy patrolling and clearing the area, I would like the citizens to be careful going out and about,” said Mr. Pyi Chit, the information officer of THE KING PEACOCK LDF.
About 700 to 1,000 Junta forces, were divided into four groups and deployed in the upper part of the Singu region since the end of July. As the military groups have been committing many war crimes such as robbing, torching, and killing, nearly 10,000 local people are forced to flee.
The military soldiers divided into many columns and have been deployed in villages along the east side of the Mandalay- Tigyaing- Bhamo (tactically important) Road, such as Minkone, Salzinkone, Letpankone, Sinnyetkone, Pawtawmu, Kyauk-aik, Myinthay, Thone Mile, Lay Mile, Chochin Myaing and Dawmagyi villages. The military troops have been raiding and looting the villages and also reportedly burning the plantation huts where farmers live temporarily in the fields.
