TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Residents reported that the car of the junta council’s appointed administrator of Sanghlan Village, Launglon Township, was intercepted and attacked at noon on Friday (May 26).
The attack reportedly took place at around 11:30 in the afternoon on the Launglon-Sanghlan Road around Sanghlan Mountain.
The Dawei Defense Team – DDT that carried out the attack stated that the 40-year-old junta-appointed administrator Ye Kalay and his assistant Aung Khin were in the car.
“He is always going back and forth between the village and Launglon Town. We heard that he was attacked with a mine and also that he was shot by interceptors. It is certain that he was definitely hit. We also heard an explosion,” said a resident of Launglon.
Locals said that the junta administrator that was attacked is also a member of the junta-backed Pyu Saw Htee militia and is also armed (by the junta regime).
