SAGAING DIVISION – According to the 3 Star Black Panther PDF force, eleven people including a monk, locals, and People’s Defence Force (PDF) members were arrested and their weapons were confiscated after the junta raid on Samoon Village.
On June 29, at around 5 a.m., a junta column with more than 80 soldiers entered Samoon village, opened fire, and raided a PDF camp.
“The weapons were placed on the cars in the monastery compound. When the junta troops suddenly came in, people ran away and the members also had to retreat, with no time to retrieve their weapons. The village monk was arrested as the weapons were found in the monastery,” said an official of the 3 star black panther force.
The place where the military council troops raided was the Samoon Village People’s Defence Force Campsite and a total of 11 people had been arrested by junta troops.
Moreover, five cars (belonging to the monk, the PDF team, and the villagers), five 107mm grenades, 35 handmade guns, a sniper, and 200 different kinds of artillery and explosives, that cost 500 million Kyats have been lost.
