KACHIN STATE- A military source stated that the junta air force mistakenly dropped an aerial bomb on the Shan Ni Army (SNA)’s location during the Sezin battle at Hpakant Township, Kachin State.
On August 11, the military council launched aerial support when their troops and alliance Shan Ni Army force took a fall against the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) troops in Panchel and Namkatha villages in the Sezin region.
“More than 30 SNA members were killed and wounded when junta air force from Myitkyina Town misfired them. The aerial bomb is mistakenly drooped on its alliance,” said a military source in the Kachin region.
A resident of Sezin said, “PDF and KIA were bombed by airplanes. But two bombs were misfired. The current situation is still tense between the two sides. Two jet fighters launched the aerial attack. About ten aerial bombs were dropped and two of them hit their alliance forces and the causalities are said to be high.”
Local news sources said that after KIA attacked and captured the Kasen Bum junta camp on Hpakant- Tamakhan Road in August, fights also broke out in the Sezin area, causing the military council to suffer.
