MAGWAY DIVISION – It was reportedly known from local residents that a junta council appointed administrator on a motorcycle was shot and killed on the road between Shwepandaw and Innlel Villages of Aung Lan Township.
The administrator Mr. Myint Oo (50) was killed on June 17 at around 11 a.m. while returning alone from Shwepandaw to Innlel Village where he lived.
“As far as we know, the junta-appointed administrator was stabbed and shot to death near Ingyinkone. It seems like he was interrogated before he was killed,” said a local. The body of Mr. Myint Oo was reportedly sent to Aung Lan Hospital.
The local resident commented that Mr. Myint Oo used to extort money from villagers along with the junta council’s lackeys.
After the appointed administrator was killed, military council soldiers from Aung Lan Town came and inspected the surrounding area. Some troops returned back to Aung Lan Town but a few remained, stationing at Shwepandaw Village.
It is not yet known who killed the administrator and why he was killed.
Recently on June 8 at about 8 p.m., another junta-appointed administrator Mr. Htaung Soe Oo (40) was also severely injured from a gunshot while returning on a motorcycle from Aung Lan Town towards U Yin Village.
