TANINTHARYI DIVISION – The Revolutionary Forces reportedly intercepted the junta column near Ban Law and Tha Mee Hla Villages in Tanintharyi Township.
The terrorist junta column leaving Nyaung Pin Kwin based Light Infantry Battalion – 561 to Thein Daw frontline camp, was intercepted at around 10 a.m., on June 17. The skirmish continued until around 5:00 p.m., according to a Defence Comrade.
“The fighting was going on all the time. The details of the casualties on the junta side are not yet known,” said a comrade of the Tanintharyi People’s Defence Organization.
The brutal junta soldiers had reportedly used a lot of mortar shells during and after the clash, injuring two civilians and destroying civilian houses, said the comrade.
The mission was jointly carried out by Tanintharyi People’s Defence Organization and Myeik District Battalion 2.
The residents of Nyaung Pin Kwin, 6-miles, Sin Gaung, Ban Law, Ban Lin, Tha Mee Hla, Kaw Taw, Yae Paw, Ban Kyoke, Tha Kyet and Kywe Htein Kone Villages have been forced to flee due to the fight.
