MANDALAY DIVISION – In a month since “Taung Thamarn Operation” started, it was said that 95 junta soldiers were killed and ten members of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) had given their lives for the country, as announced by Mandalay PDF on November 27, one month after operation started.
During the operation period, two tanks of the junta council were destroyed and 11 members of the junta council and pyithusit (militias) under its command were caught as the prisoners of war, as mentioned in the announcement.
Along with “Operation 1027” by the Northern Three Brotherhood Alliance, “Taung Thamarn Operation” was said to have been carried out in Madaya, Mogok, Naungcho and Kyaukme Townships.
Deploying military action in Kyaukme and Naungcho in Northern Shan State intended to cut the reinforcements of the junta council on their way to the war zones where the Three Brotherhood Alliance has been deploying military action while the military action in Madaya and Mogkok aimed at pathing a way to occupy Mandalay.
During a month long military operation, there 37 battles broke out and most of them, 28 battles, occurred in Kyaukme and Naungcho Townships.
During the operation period, 121 weapons and ammunition were said to have been confiscated from the junta forces.
The junta council has assaulted with airstrikes over the place where the prisoners of wars, caught by the coalition forces of Mandalay PDF and its alliances, were kept which resulted in the deaths of four prisoners of wars.
During the operation period, some areas including Mandalay-Lashio Union Road were controlled by the PDFs and the operation is still being intensified step by step.
