SHAN STATE – Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) reported on December 18 that they occupied all the junta’s military bases in Namhsan Town, where the division commander of 101th Light Infantry Division was stationed and commanded.
TNLA stated that they combated and acquired the junta’s bases in Namhsan Town such as Infantry Battalion – 258, No. 626 and 929 Supply and Transport Units, junta-owned tea factory, police stations and junta-controlled offices, on the evening of December 15.
During the fights, TNLA seized four Howitzers, a halt amount of various weapons, mines and ammunition as well as military equipment. They also seized more than 60 dead bodies of terrorist junta soldiers, while 30 others were captured alive, along with three their family members, and six policemen and 25 of their family members.
A front-line military source said that it took up to a half day to count the halt number of weapons and ammunition seized.”Arranging and counting weapons took a long time. We got a large amount of weapons and ammunition as there were junta’s Supply and Transport Units,” he said.
TNLA also said that the junta’s Manton based Infantry Battalion – 130 carried out several times of artillery attacks, as well as its air forces launched airstrike attacks with Mi-35 for one time, ART-42 for five times, fighter jets for 19 times and Y12 for five times, during the fights.
The genocidal junta carried out targeted attacks on civilians, while the TNLA was combating their bases in Namhsan Town, killing three residents of Namhsan, destroying Padamya Shrine by airstrike and artillery attacks, Namhsan archbishop’s school and the school building of the Basic Education Elementary School in Ngun Hseng Village, over 40 residential houses by airstrike attacks and burning down 14 residential houses.
