SAGAING DIVISION – An official of the People’s Defence Force of Ayardaw Township stated that there were some casualties when the deserted soldiers from Naunggyi Ai police station werr chased and attacked.
There were about 30 members of the military council troops at Naunggyi Ai Station and 60 reinforcement troops arrived on December 10.
Then, ten days later, on December 20, the soldiers from Naunggyi Ai Police Station left the camp and ran away, stated the local resistance forces.
“The station was cleared and the documents left by the dogs (junta soldiers) were confiscated and stored properly. There were some public properties that were illegally taken or seized from the locals. The stolen items included many bags of rice. We were able to hand them over to their respective owners,” said an official of Ayardaw PDF.
At least 15 members of the military group may have been killed in the attack on the deserted column, according to an official of the PDF.
“The enemy left the camp on the 20th. We ambushed the deserted column. About 15 enemies could have been killed, including officers. The entire column could not be eliminated because of the enemy’s Mi-35 aerial support,” said the official.
The local PDF soldiers reported that the column retreated to Ayardaw, carrying the dead and wounded on stretchers.
On December 23, it was reported that the local revolutionary forces entered and cleared the area of the Naunggyi Ai Police Outpost.
