KACHIN STATE – According to Hpakant People Defense Force, the revolutionary forces attacked a junta council’s checkpoint located on the edge of the Pantin bridge, at the entrance to Hpakant town. As a result, at least 3 junta council troops were injured.
An accountable person of the revolutionary forces mentioned that the alliance of Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and PDF attacked the junta council’s Pantin bridge checkpoint at around 12 p.m. on September 20.
“We attacked the junta council checkpoint. Three junta troops fell down at once. But the detailed number of the casualties was not yet known,” said the accountable person.
Pantin bridge checkpoint is a checkpoint where the junta council servants from the battalions under division 33 and police battalion 28 were stationed. It was the main checkpoint at the entrance to Hpakant town.
Moreover, the alliance of KIA brigade 6 and PDF attacked the stated checkpoint on July 21 and resulted in five junta council troops were said to have been killed.
After the Pantin bridge checkpoint being attacked, the fascist junta council troops checked the pedestrians for an hour.
“It is a checkpoint at the entrance to Hpakant town. They checked the pedestrians for a while after they (the junta council troops) were being attacked. At the moment, the pedestrians use the road as normal,” said a local who lived in Hmawone ward.
The junta council checkpoints were frequently attacked in Hpakant township since the coup.
