RAKHINE STATE – According to local news sources, the Arakan Army (AA) launched an attack on the terrorist army stationed in Pauktaw, and both sides are fighting fiercely.
A resident said that AA attacked the city of Pauktaw, where the junta council army was stationed, after on November 21 afternoon, and the junta council army is also attacking from the air.
“Since 12:45 p.m. today (November 21), the two sides have been fighting back and forth. The junta council is bombarding with planes and firing with rockets. Then two junta warships (Navy) are also firing 66 mm shells. The battle can still be heard,” he said.
At present, the status of the damage and the casualties on both sides and the civilian casualties are unknown.
“The sound of gunfire was heard from all over the city. The plane also came and fired for a few minutes then went back. We do not know for sure what happened and how it started,” he said.
On November 16 afternoon, after AA took control of the city police station and departments, the military council launched an offensive with a massive force of army and navy troops and AA had to retreat due to the incoming fire from the army.
The day after the withdrawal, AA warned the military council troops in Pauktaw that they would retaliate, and launched the attack on November 21.
It is reported that more than 100 terrorist army forces from the junta council and more than 60 police forces have been reinforced in addition to the two warships targeting the city.
Sources have confirmed that 118 civilians have been abducted by the junta council troops, and people have fled their homes due to the deployment of military council troops.
