BAGO DIVISION – An official from Tharyarwaddy District Battalion 3802 informed that they attacked a junta checkpoint at the edge of the Bago Yoma ranges in Min Hla Township.
The checkpoint near Sambok Village with around 15 junta troops deployed was attacked by Tharyarwaddy District Battalion 3802, Company 5 on December 8 around 8 p.m.
“(The exchange of fire) lasted for over half an hour. We raided the checkpoint and opened fire on a junta soldier and police. Both fell dead. Witnessing that, the rest of them ran to hide in the trenches,” said the official of Tharyarwaddy District Battalion 3802.
He continued that two junta soldiers and policeman Kaung Moe Htet were killed in the attack while many were injured.
In addition, Battalion 3802 informed that two mobile phones, two flashlights, 20,000 Kyats, seven ID cards and 17 bullets were seized from the killed junta forces but they had to fall back due to the arrival of junta reinforcement.
“Junta forces dragged the dead bodies and guns into the trenches so we didn’t manage to pick up the weapons,” said the official.
The attacked junta checkpoint is at the edge of the Bago Yoma ranges in Min Hla Township and it cannot be avoided by those going into the Yoma ranges or to Kantin Bilin Dam.
