BAGO DIVISION – According to the locals, fierce battles broke out between the revolutionary forces and the fascist junta council troops near Thaekaw village on the morning of December 27. Thaekaw village is located on the Kyaukkyi-Penwegon road.
Starting in the early morning of December 27, the battles were fierce, and around 20 junta council troops were killed.
The detailed news about the deaths of the junta council troops has not been confirmed yet.
The atrocious junta council troops have fired continuous rounds of heavy weapons. One of the junta council shellings was over Thaekaw monastery, and the abbot was killed.
The revolutionary forces under the leadership of KNU (Karen National Union) and the fascist junta council troops have been engaging in fierce battles near Nyaunglebin, Shwegyin, and Kyaukkyi townships in the eastern part of Bago division, where the boundaries are closed with KNU brigade 3 territory.
Similarly, on December 26, the alliance of the revolutionary forces attacked and captured Natthankwin town in Kyaukkyi township.
