KARENNI STATE – One of the clinics in Hpruso (self-launched by the locals) that closed temporarily due to the shortage of healthcare staff is still unable to reopen even after four months.
“The clinic was closed down as there is no doctor or nurse in charge,” said a displaced person.
The clinic in Hpruso Town was shut down in January.
Hpruso is a hard-to-reach area and most patients suffer from diseases resulting from poor hygiene (such as skin disease and GI problems like diarrhea), according to the locals.
The clinic used to cover medical attention for the IDP camp area with over 40 households and 160 people, stated a local.
