KACHIN STATE – Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and Kachin People Defence Force (KPDF) attacked two junta council’s places located in Hsengtaung village in Hpakant Township at 4 a.m. on September 25.
The locals said that the office of the Military Intelligence of Myanmar in Seikmu village and Police Battalion-30 camp were attacked.
A local said, “The alliance of the revolutionary forces mainly attacked the office of the Military Intelligence of Myanmar. They (the alliance forces) attacked the police battalion, intended for the junta council troops not to provide the reinforcements to the office of the military intelligence of Myanmar.”
After the shooting, the junta council troops from the police battalion fired heavy weapons towards the village. As a result, some of the houses were said to have been damaged and a few villagers were injured. But the detailed information was not yet known, said a local man.
He continued, “I heard that many houses were damaged and there were civilian casualties. But when I asked the people who live nearby the military hill, they said there was nothing.”
It was known that during the shooting, the junta council troops and police were killed but it cannot be confirmed yet.
On the evening of September 21, the junta council troops who had come to the clinic were shot and two troops were killed in Hsengtaung village.
