KACHIN STATE – It has been reported that the alliance of Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and Kachin People Defense Force (KPDF) attacked the junta council troops who had come to a clinic with a car in Seikmu village, Hpakan township, Kachin state, at around 5:30 p.m. on September 21.
A close acquaintance to KPDF mentioned that the alliance forces opened fire on a Ipsum car carrying the junta council troops near the Alintan grocery store in the ward no.2, Seikmu village.
“At the time of being attacked, they (the junta council troops) haven’t entered the clinic yet, I guess. Because the information was accurate. They were being shot while they were in the car. It was known that they didn’t even have enough time to fire back,” said the close acquaintance.
A local living in Seikmu village mentioned that the junta council troops came to the scene and conducted an investigation after the shooting.
He continued that “we saw that the whole car was shot when we got out of the house to check what was happening as we heard the continuous sounds of the shooting. The junta council troops came to the scene immediately as their troops were hurt. Following that, they were patrolling. They (the junta council troops) checked the houses from door to door in Mashikataung ward.”
It was known that a junta council troop was killed but the detailed information was not yet known.
On September 20, the alliance of KIA and KPDF attacked the junta council checkpoint at the edge of Pantin bridge, in Nammahpyit village.
