KACHIN STATE – It is reported that the military council column and the KIA have been fighting again since around 6 o’clock this morning (August 25) in the Pha Kant-Karmai Road section.
A driver said that there is currently a fight going on and on; it’s blocked the road section going to Phakant next to Nanya, and traffic on that road is still blocked.
Now it’s a battle that’s still fighting. He said, “The road is not possible to open for the next three days because of the continuous firing of heavy weapons.”
Yesterday, there was a clash between the junta council and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) between the villages of Nanya and Mau Pin Dam, and it is known that there were casualties on both sides.
In addition, at 8:00 p.m. yesterday night, the No. 12 Infantry Battalion under the 33rd Division, consisting of about 120 terrorist soldiers, abducted the drivers trapped in Yeh village, passengers, and about 100 people fleeing the war sheltering in the church, according to the Facebook page of the Minister of Natural Resources of the National Unity Government, Dr. Tu Khaung.
It is reported that the people who are fleeing the war and were arrested are local residents from Kyauktu village, On Ka Taung village, and Khin Taung village.
On the morning of August 22, the KIA ambushed the junta council column that was marching from Karmai to Phakant, and a battle broke out near Kyauktu village.
After the fighting, the KIA set up a roadblock on the road to Pha Kang from Nanya, so passengers and drivers were trapped in Nanya village.
During the fighting on August 22nd, a 35-year-old woman from Nanya village was hit and injured by a heavy weapon fired by the Junta Council troops.
