BAGO DIVISION – At least 17 soldiers of the junta council were killed and more than 20 were injured during the fighting that took place in Phyu township on November 30th, the commander of PDF, the No. (2) Military Region said of Southern Command said.
He said that on November 30th, the Junta Council Army which had over 100 soldiers patrolled to Kyaw Hla Village and Hsate Phu Khin Village in 2 columns were attacked by the People’s Defense Joint Forces.
During the battle, at least 17 soldiers of the junta council were killed and more than 20 were injured, and 4 civilians were killed and injured due to airstrikes by the junta council, explained the officer in charge of the military region.
The military council is bombing not only the place where the battle took place, but also the village of Hla Thin Maung, Ma Kyee Gone, Lae Pyin Lay Gone and Tha Pyae Khin Village were attacked. A local said that thousands of people are fleeing the war because of the bombing and attack on the nearby villages.
Due to the airstrikes, the number of casualties in these villages may increase, and the details of the situation are still being investigated, said the officer in charge of No. 2 Military Region of Southern Region.
