BAGO DIVISION – A PDF sniper attacked the junta forces guarding Sittaung River Bridge, near Oak Phyat Village, Phyu Township, on Saturday (August 5) at around 2:45 p.m., killing one junta troop.
The forces had around 30 members. “The junta forces from Phyu arrived there while patrolling. Normally, they had only five under the bridge. They also fired back with a 40MM shell when we carried out the sniper attack. No clash occurred,” said a PDF comrade.
Then, the junta soldiers from Phyu returned to their positions by cars and motorcycles after the sniper attack. The junta council troops at Oak Phyat Village were frequently fired upon by a sniper, and three junta troops were killed due to a sniper attack in July.
Around ten junta troops at Oak Phyat Village were also killed because of drone attacks, RPG attacks, and clashes.
On July 8, PDF comrades dropped two 60MM grenades at the Oak Phyat Police Station, killing six junta council soldiers.
