SHAN STATE – The locals said that infamous Pyu Saw Htee leader San Nyunt of Intaw, Yatsauk Township, a region where Fort Ba Htoo, a main region of the junta council is located in Southern Shan State was eliminated and killed.
It has been reported that a group of anonymous people came and shot him at his house in No.6 ward, Intaw Township on August 13 around 9 p.m.
A resident said that they heard around five gunshots at the time of the elimination, then heard over ten gunshots ten years later and that he learnt in the morning that Mr. San Nyunt was killed.
Mr. San Nyunt who was eliminated was 50 years old and was a Pyu Saw Htee leader in Intaw Township and Kyaukgu Township for over ten years, serving the junta council.
It has been reported that he reported and abducted political activists and revolutionaries in the township.
“He was the head figure in Intaw and Kyaukgu Township. His son is in the junta police force. Most of the abductees in that region were abducted due to him and his son,” said a local of Intaw Township.
This was the first time after the military coup in Fort Ba Htoo Region that a junta affiliate was eliminated.
