KACHIN STATE – The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked a military council convoy coming from Bhamo to Myitkyina City in Kachin State on the night of September 4, and there were few fatalities within the military council, according to Kachin military sources.
On the night of September 4, the convoy of eleven military vehicles coming from Bhamo was reportedly attacked at the Tar Pein River bridge near Darhseng Village, Momauk Township.
“Eleven military vehicles were said to be blasted by KIA. One of the vehicles was overturned and another one fell into the river. Nine military council troops were injured and four allegedly died,” said the Kachin military sources.
The above mentioned military council convoy is said to be heading to the Myitkyina – Bhamo Road, Nam Sanyang area where the battles between the military and PDF task forces have been raging.
