KACHIN STATE – Kachin Independent Army (KIA) reportedly attacked the junta convoy with four vehicles, which came to help in the Namsangyang region clash, Waingmaw Township in the morning of July 18 at about 1:00 A.M.
“These vehicles belong to #78 Infantry Battalion and one vehicle was damaged when they were mined on the way,” said one military source from Kachin region.
There have been daily skirmishes on Myitkyina-Bamho road with the junta troops assisting in the clashes in Namsangyang region since the beginning of July. They have been sending support troops from both Myitkyina and Bhamo.
“There is an intense clash at 11:20 A.M. The military council was hit on the Bhamo Road this morning,” said a Kachin resident. He added that the present clash in Namsangyang region is the collective effort of KIA and other revolutionary forces.
