CHIN STATE – Chinland Defence Force (CDF) battled junta council troops in Mindat on Saturday (August 26) and there were casualties among junta forces, according to social media posts by residents.
At around 11 a.m. on August 26, junta troops that came out of Mindat based junta infantry 274 in two Faw trucks went to the town entrance and continued in foot towards the park outside the town and clashed against the CDF soldiers.
A local resident informed that seven junta forces were heavily injured in said clash and the injured were brought back to infantry 274 base.
They added that the retreating junta forces had abducted four civilians on their way to retreat.
There has been no update on the military situation in Mindat following the August 26 battle and CDF Mindat is also yet to release any announcement regarding the battle.
CDF Mindat had attacked junta patrols in Mindat at the end of July, leading to junta casualties that included several police officers.
The station chief for Mindat Police Station injured in said attack is said to have lost sight in one eye while the township administration officer broke one of his thighs, according to the locals.
The district police chief had restrained a policeman in relation to that attack but the policeman tried to escape with his weapon. However, it is said that the policeman has been recaptured and is now being tortured by junta forces.
