RAKHINE STATE- Locals said that the junta used 500 pounds of bombs and destroyed them via airstrike in Minpyar Township, Rakhine State, today (January 16) morning without any battle happening.
A local said that they started an airstrike at 5 o’clock. It had already had six bombs. The houses were burned. Nobody wanted to go out, so we don’t know the damages and injuries.
It has been reported that the damages and injuries of civilians are still being investigated due to the junta’s airstrikes. Many people absconded and only some people were left on town in Minpyar Township.
Rakhine’s Army (Arakan Army) attacked Minpyar Township-based light infantry battalion (379), (380), and (541) starting on January 10. Since that junta attacked Minpyar Township with airstrikes and heavy weapons this morning (January 16), they were using 500-pound bombs to attack.
A person close to AA said that they were blasting via airstrike to non–military places.
Many houses in Minnbargyi ward, Shwepyitan Harbor, Old Market Part (1), Minpyar Township are due to be blasted today (January 16) morning, said some locals.
The junta blasted 500-pound bombs in Minpyar Township at the time AA was attacking junta camps and tactical hills in Rakhine State because AA had controlled all of Palatwa Region on January 14.
