SHAN STATE – It is said that a military council camp in Mabein Township in northern Shan State was attacked by a joint force of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the People’s Defence Forces (PDF) on Friday evening (August 25).
The joint team of KIA Battalion 12 under Brigade 3 and PDF reportedly attacked the junta camp occupied by soldiers of Infantry Battalion 276 based in Momeik Town.
“The soldiers of IB-276 have been stationed in Sibein Village. At around 5 p.m. on August 25, KIA Battalion 12 and PDF seized the junta camp completely the next morning. Weapons were confiscated and there was no casualty on our side,” said a military news source in Kachin.
The photos of the confiscated weapons were posted along with the report from a Kachin War News Source. This seizure of the junta camp is the first time military achievement in the KIA Batallion 12 territory.
