MANDALAY DIVISION – A junta convoy was hit by landmines in Mogok Township, resulting in casualties among the junta troops, according to residents.
On Monday, September 18, at around 5 a.m., a junta convoy consisting of three vehicles heading from Mandalay to Mogok was struck by landmines, causing casualties and fatalities among the junta soldiers.
Clashes have intensified in Kyauk Phyu village, west of Mogok Township, with junta forces continuously firing heavy artillery shells.
“The battle began in Mogok at 5 a.m., and numerous junta troops were killed when one of the three vehicles was hit. The fighting is now escalating in Kyauk Phyu village, west of Mogok,” stated a resident.
On Sunday, September 17, at around 3 p.m., the junta council conducted airstrikes on villages near Mogok Township, and casualty figures could not be confirmed.
