MON STATE – The joint revolutionary forces intercepted and attacked the junta convoy in Muppalin Township last Wednesday (July 12)at around 11:30 a.m. and reportedly killed 15 soldiers and injured many, according to the Jungle-Crow PDF Battalion.
It is reported that the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the Jungle-Crow PDF Battalion jointly attacked the eight military vehicles that left Thaton near Shwe Nyaungpin Village (locally known as Kalama Turnaround).
“We attacked the convoy near the Kalama Turnaround area. The 40-mm motor shell fired from a distance hit the car. At least 15 junta soldiers were killed and many were wounded,” reported a member of the resistance force who participated in the attack.
During the attack, a civilian woman was injured in the arm by return fire from a junta vehicle.
More junta troops are deployed in Muppalin Township and along the banks of the Sitt Taung River after the attack.
According to residents, despite the junta’s massive offensives in Karen, Mon, Chin, and Karenni States as well as in Sagaing Division, their casualties have increased, and the junta regime has been carrying out aerial bombardments recently.
