SAGAING DIVISION – The local PDF groups said there were junta casualties in the three-day attacks on the junta council soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militants in Monywa.
On December 18 at around 11:30, the Area 71 PDF team tried to stop a vehicle of the Pyu Saw Htee militants who were returning from Taw Pu Village, a village controlled by the militia, to deliver food. However, because the car drove away without stopping, they chased and attacked the car, killing the one next to the driver and one of the four passengers in the back seat. The official of the Area 71 PDF said that a total of two Pyu Saw Htee militants died on the spot.
“Our side stopped them for inspection. They tried to drive away while shooting at us. The car was going back to Monywa. There were only Pyu Saw Htee militants on board. We witnessed their death,” said the official above.
An official from Golden Eagle Force Monywa said that they threw one grenade into the Light Infantry Battalion 16 compound at the exist of Monywa at around 8:30 a.m. on December 17; another grenade at the junta council soldiers at Nat Lu Htate Pan ward administration office and one more grenade at the hidden sentries of the terrorist junta council inside the high school near the industrial zone crossing of the Monywa – Mandalay Road on December 16 between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
During the three attacks, two terrorist soldiers were killed and many were injured in the explosion at the office of Nat Lu Htate Pan Ward, he said.
“It exploded in front of the bunker at the office of Nat Lu Htate Pan,” said the official of the Golden Eagle Force – Monywa.
The operations in Monywa city were jointly condicted by the Golden Eagle Force – Monywa group and the Monywa urban UG forces, and the defence forces were able to withdraw unharmed.
The Golden Eagle Force – Monywa has appealed to the public to stay away from the places of military gates and camps.
