SAGAING DIVISION- An official from the Regional Friend Fighters (RFF) group said that three junta police were killed when they attacked those who were extorting money on the Monywa-Pathein road.
On March 19, at around 1:47 p.m., a group of Regional Friend Fighters (RFF) attacked 16 junta police who were extorting money from civilians on the Monywa-Pathein road between the Aung Zeya Military Hill and Swanyee Htet petrol station, and 5 police, including an officer, were injured.
Among those injured, one police officer and one soldier died on the spot, while the remaining 2 soldiers were injured. After being attacked by improvised explosive devices, the remaining police opened fire.
They hijacked a traveller’s vehicle and the bodies of two dead policemen and two injured were taken to military hospital. Out of the 2 injured, 1 died at the hospital.
“Three junta police died when they were extorting money. One officer and one soldier died on the spot. The other one died at the hospital,” said an official of the Regional Friend Fighters (RFF) group.
