BAGO DIVISION – Two civilians including a ten year old child were killed in Muu Township, Klel Lwee Htoo (Nyaunglebin) District, Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 3, KNU Kawthoolei Administrative Region, between January 5 and 8, by the explosion of a left over artillery shell of the junta council as well as the intentional air strikes of the terrorist junta targeting the civilian zones, announced KNU (central). Four more civilians were said to be injured and two houses were destroyed.
On January 5 around 2:10 p.m. at Thaunggyi Village in Phyu, Muu Township, a ten year old child died and an eleven year old child was critically wounded by the explosion of a MA launcher grenade that was left by the terrorist junta troops when they invaded the villages of Kyeepinpauk, Wattuu and Thaunggyi back in November, 2023.
Then on January 7, a 120 mm artillery shell fired by junta light infantry 307 fell into Zalotegyi Village and exploded, and a 65 year old resident was injured in the face by shrapnel while a house was also destroyed.
Moreover on January 8 at 11:05 a.m., two jet fighters of the terrorist junta council that took off from Taungoo Air Base bombed the area around Thahtaygone Monastery located between Kyunpinseik Village and Ngalauttat Village and also flew over and opened fire with the mounted machine guns at least three times, killing a 41 year old resident of Yintaikgone Village who came to purchase rice and injured two more civilians.
After that, between 9:02 p.m. and 9:07 p.m. that night, the artillery shells fired by the terrorist junta forces landed in Yaylel Village and destroyed one house, informed KNU (central).
