KACHIN STATE – A KIA military source said that the KIA began its offensive on the morning of March 1st. The Kachin Independence Army assaulted a junta council strategic camp in Mansi township, Bhamo District, Kachin State.
“We have been fighting at Majigun strategic hill in Mansi township since 6 o’clock this morning,” he said.
The KIA is attacking another strategic camp after capturing the Sikhamgyi junta council strategic camp in Mansi township recently.
The KIA and joint forces captured one junta council camp in Mansi township between January and February this year, and have now gained control of most of the camps.
Junta camps in Mansi township, including Man Wein Gyi, Kitehtate, Jel Kham (Sikhamgyi),
Plaungdinsa camp is occupied by the KIA.
In the past few days, the KIA has been attacking to capture the Tama Khan Junta Council Camp in Hpakant township, the 141st Infantry battalion near Hsinbo, Myitkyina township. The Kachin military news, including the capture of these camps, is still under investigation for further information.
