KACHIN STATE – Residents confirmed about the shootings that went on in Police Battalion #30 located in Myitkyina, Kachin State.
One local stated that he heard about forty shots coming from the above police battalion at 11:25 P.M. on June 29 and that there were also return firings.
One local related, “There was continuous firings from the police battalion and it has been known that they returned firing as they were attacked first. The details of the casualty is still not known. Only the noise of the shots were loudly heard as it was past midnight.”
There have reportedly been frequent shooting and bomb attacks on the police battalion #30 in Myitkyina by PDFs, Urban Guerrilla forces and Kachin Independence Army (KIA) continuously.
