KACHIN STATE – The Myitkyina air force was fired upon with short range missiles on March 7th morning, and an Mi-17 helicopter and a plane were damaged, Nay Pyi Taw Air Force sources said.
On the morning of March 7th, Myitkyina Air Force was fired with short range missiles. A landed Mi17 helicopter was hit and damaged by a missile and caught fire. Another plane was also hit.
“The Mi-17 helicopter and another one caught fire after the Myitkyina Air Force hit by missiles. That’s for sure. Two of them were hit,” explained the Nay Pyi Taw Air Force source.
When contacted, the source of the Northern Regional Military Command said that some air force and airfields in Kachin State were fired with missiles on March 7th. It was said that they do not want to comment on the news of a helicopter and 2 planes being hit by missiles in the Myitkyina Air Force.
It is learned that, on March 7th, the revolutionary forces led by the KIA attacked the junta council camps and airfields.
