KAREN STATE – According to the accountable person of the Karen National Defence Organization (KNDO), ten junta council troops, including a battalion commander, were killed during the simultaneous attacks on three junta military camps in the southern part of Myawaddy town, Karen state.
The alliance of Karen National Union (KNU)/ Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), KNDO battalion 8, and Federal Wings Drone Force jointly attacked Waw Lay tactical Hill, Maw Khee military camp, and Kanelay military camp in the southern part of Myawaddy town on May 13. As a result, ten junta council troops, including a battalion officer, were killed.
After the attacks, the junta council bombed Panwe Pho Kaloe village near Maw Khee military camp, and a Christian church was damaged due to the bombardment.
The accountable person of KNDO battalion 8 said that “ten junta council troops, including a battalion officer from Kanelay military camp, were killed. The detailed number of casualties from the other two camps was not yet known. The battle is still ongoing, and the military dogs (junta council troops) are recklessly firing onto the nearby villages using 120 mm mortars and 81 mm mortars.”
