TANINTHAYI DIVISION – Residents said that the military council troops were attacked with mines in Tone Byaw village.
On September 23rd, at around 3:00 p.m., the People’s Defense Forces attacked the military council troops who were trying to search and clear the mines between the villages of Bagan Taung Po and Tone Byaw Gyi villages.
“The junta council’s soldiers knew that there was a mine and were trying to clear the mine. We detonated a mine there,” a person close to the group said.
Initially, it was reported that one soldier was killed and some were injured due to the mine attack.
Although Tone Byaw village tract is in Myeik township area, it is located near Za Wei village in Tanintharyi Township where martial law has been declared.
