YANGON DIVISION – The Guardians UG group announced that the police station in North Okkalapa Township of Yangon was bombed on the night of January 2.Yesterday (January 2), at around 9:45 PM, Guardians UG and YGN UG reported that the Myoma police station on Mya Yadanar Road in North Okkalapa Township was attacked by a remote mine.
“Just before 10:00 p.m., we heard two explosions on the North Okkalapa side. We know that they went off near the police station. We don’t know for sure if there were any casualties or not. We saw police cars and military vehicles going towards the camp where the bombs went off,” said a resident of North Okkalapa Township.
Last December 31st (New Year’s Eve), urban guerrilla forces bombed six locations, including the police battalion (9) stationed by the Military Council in Hlaing Tharyar Township.
Therefore, the urban guerrilla forces have appealed to the public to avoid areas related to the military council.
