KAREN STATE – The sound of the junta forces firing 120 mm shells at night in Myawaddy Township, Karen State could be heard from Mae Sot, at the border of Thailand-Myanmar, as said by the local people.
At around 6 p.m. on the night of June 24, junta battalion 275 was said to be recklessly firing 120 mm shells without having any battles in the region.
A local resident from Myawaddy said, “There is no battle in the region, but the junta forces were firing heavy artillery onto the Tone Bridge also known as Pwintlin Ayemyaing Bridge, which caused the vibration of the ground in Myawaddy. It has been over 50 rounds.”
