SAGAING DIVISION – The local resistance forces said that they were involved in a shootout with the military council troops who were stealing wood in Yinmabin Township, resulting in casualties on the junta side, and they were able to seize a gun and some military paraphernalia.
On August 29, at 10:15 a.m. in Yinmabin Township, a 15-minute exchange of gunfire took place with the 35 members scout team of the junta council, which was smuggling timber from the “Si Thu” timber field, said Ko Jordan of the ULF alliance.
According to the local revolutionary forces, they ambushed the junta troops, after receiving information that the military council army was sneaking in and attacking people’s homes near the timber field.
The UFL joint forces said, within 15 minutes, seven terrorist soldiers died, and not less than seven were injured.
Private Maung Htoo from Cho Mai Mai revolutionary force said “They fell back, carrying their dead and injured under cover fire. Kyauk Sit Pon junta camp also provided supporting fire for fall back.”
“The revolutionary comrades retreated without harm, and one MA 11, three boxes of ammunition three bullet proof vests, three phones, a wallet, one hundred and thirty five hundred kyats and 50 Thai baht in cash, and some goldwear were seized,” local resistance forces said.
“They fell on their side while shooting. Weapons and ammunition were seized during the exchange of fire,” said Ko Jordan of ULF coalition.
Locals said that the military council army burned and destroyed villages such as Kyauk Maw, Pa Tain Pyin, Than Payar Pin Roe, and Inn Phyar and the number of houses torched is unknown.
The operation was led by the platoon commander Ko Naing Min of the ULF and the Comrade platoon, KLG Column, Alpha Column, B 21 PDF (17th Battalion), PDA (35th Battalion), Bo Nhatkhanmhwae Corps, the Chindwin GZ and the Tay Mon Taman LPDF have joined the operation.
Residents said that the same junta terrorists had shot dead a local woman who was picking betel leaves at Thambo Village in Yinmabin Township for no reason.
