KAREN STATE – The locals said that the revolutionary forces, which attacked the junta camp in Yardo Village, Thandaunggyi Township, Karen State on Tuesday (July 11) at 6 a.m. had retreated.
The stated camp is on the Taungo-Latetho-Yardo-Loikaw Road in the KNU Brigade 2 controlled region and is part of the transportation route used by the junta council to transport ration and reinforcement troops to Karenni State.
“The battle started this morning (July 11). But it is over now. We don’t yet know about the exact details of casualties. They couldn’t seize the camp. I couldn’t say exactly about which forces were included,” A responsible person from Kayan Region Leftist Youths – KRLY said.
The locals said that about 30 junta soldiers and polices were stationed at the camp at Yardo Village and they strictly inspected locals there and also restricted the transportation of cooking oil, rice and medicine.
Many locals absconded because of that battle. A large number of troops from junta division 66 were said to have been deployed from the Southern Command to Yardo Village at the border of Karen and Karenni States since June 7, 2021.
