YANGON DIVISION – Over 2,000 operations were carried out in Yangon, resulting in the deaths of over 600 junta members, including a major, and over 80 PDF comrades, according to the Yangon Division Military Headquarters (PDF).
Following the coup, from May 5, 2021, to May 31, 2023, the Special Operation Force, Special Task Force, Public Administration Body, Guerilla Forces, and other revolutionary forces jointly conducted over 2,000 operations.
During these operations, more than 600 junta members, including majors, were killed, and over 900 were wounded. Additionally, over 80 PDF comrades were killed due to accidents during the operations or as a result of murders and tortures by the junta council. Over 100 comrades were wounded, and over 1,000 were abducted.
The targets of the operations included over 1,000 military sites, more than 800 junta administration targets, and over 200 junta business targets. The operations involved 50 special operations, over 500 shootings, and over 1,500 explosions.
The Yangon Military Headquarters has already established Battalion – 5101 as the first battalion in Yangon and will continue to carry out operations in both rural and urban areas, as stated in the official statement.
