YANGON DIVISION – Bomb explosions occurred in North Okkalapa, South Okkalapa, North Dagon and Yankin Townships on August 29, local residents reported.
A local resident said that a bomb blast occurred near the Myoma police station on Kanbe Road in Yankin Township after 8:30 p.m. on August 29.
“The sound of the bomb blast was very loud. I’ve got to know that the explosion was between Yankin Myoma police station and the Children’s Hospital. No injury was reported. I saw a lot of police and military vehicles come to the scene,” he said.
After the bomb blast, junta council members blocked the roads on Kabaraye Pagoda Road and Kanbe Road and inspected the cars passing by, said a taxi driver.
Similarly, local residents said that they also heard the sound of explosions in ward (10) of South Okkalapa, Khaymar Thi Road at North Okkalapa, and ward (155) Eastern Dagon Township at around 9 p.m. on August 29.
“I heard the sound of a bomb explosion from Thitsa Road at South Okkalapa Township. I’m not sure the exact place. There is a police station there. I saw military vehicles and police drove towards Thitsa Road,” said a resident of South Okkalapa Township.
After the bomb blasts, junta council soldiers blocked the corner of Thitsa and Thumingalar Roads at South Okkalapa, Khaymar Thi Road of North Okkalapa, and Shwe Pauk Kan Bridge at North Dagon towards Shwe Pauk Kan, local residents said.
