YANGON DIVISION – The Yangon Guerrilla Force confirmed that they bombed the tax office for mid-level tax payers under the Military Council in Kyauk Ta-da Township, downtown of Yangon.
On June 5, around 12:00 noon, it was reported that a bomb attack took place on the 3rd floor of the office of the Tax Commissioner’s office for Medium Tax Payers on Pan So Tan Road, no. 4 ward, Kyauk Ta-da township, Yangon Division and 5 people, including the Tax Commissioner, were injured.
As a result of the bomb blast, 3 employees, including the Deputy Chief of Revenue, Phyo Phyo Aung, and 2 persons visiting the tax office were injured.
“They have been hit by shrapnel of bomb. There is nothing to worry about. One person is seriously injured. There is no life-threatening concern. The rest are minor injuries,” said a source.
The urban guerrilla force that attacked the tax office said it would issue an official statement.
