BAGO DIVISION- According to “Pawar-Ni (red scarf) Column”, at least 5 soldiers of the Junta Council were killed in the battle at Nhawpin village, Taungoo District, Yedashe Town.
On January 9, at about 5:30 a.m., the Pawar-Ni column attacked the military council column (with almost 60 soldiers) entering the Nhawpin village. The firefight lasted almost an hour and a half and at least five junta soldiers were reportedly killed.
It is said that the junta column had retreated during the night time and only left some troops for ambush patrolling. Resistance forces reportedly raided the junta patrol site and were able to retreat without being harmed.
The military column retreated towards Indai village after the clash, according to the Pawar-Ni Column.
