TANINTHARYI DIVISION – A junta informer living in Kyauk Shap Village, Kalein Aung Town, Yebyu Township, Dawei District, Tanintharyi Division who has been armed with a handmade gun was shot dead, said the Spring Dhamma PDF.
Mr. Thein Soe, a 57-year-old man from Kyauk Shap Village, Kalein Aung was warned not to work as an informer a few months ago, but he failed to follow the warning, instead, he took refuge in the junta Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 408 and cooperated with the junta forces to abduct and torture the civilians from nearby villages and destroy the houses of civilians. As a result, he was shot dead on his way back home from his garden. A handmade gun used with M4-16 bullets and the related accessories were confiscated.
His son-in-law accompanying him was released and only he was shot dead. From the deceased Soe Thein, the records of contacting the members of the junta council such as Kyawgyi, Aung Myo Tun, Lieutenant Aung Kyaw Tun from LIB 408, and Surveillance officer Win Tun and Lance Corporal Min Thein from Kalein Aung region police station and Mawrawaddy Naval Base Camp, were seized.
The attack was performed by Spring Dhamma PDF K.L.A, based in Kalein Aung, according to the announcement.
