SAGAING DIVISION- Resistance forces attacked and occupied the Myinchin village, where 30 military council forces were stationed. The (Pyi Thu Sitt) militia camp in the village was burned down, according to a member of Shwebo Township’s revolutionary force.
“Commander Pilon led Shwebo District No. 26 Battalion (MDF SHWEBO) and Shwebo District Battalions (15), (17) and (18) launched attacks at around 3:00 a.m. on December 25. Local defense forces helped block the roads and the village was successfully captured at 5:10 a.m.,” said a member of the Shwebo revolutionary force.
He continued that, during the battle, a policeman and two Pyu Saw Htee were killed and 3 others were wounded. Some junta soldiers deserted the camp and ran away. A revolutionary force member was also reportedly injured.
It is reported that a carbine gun and five rifles (with 9-round magazines)were confiscated and their bunkers were burnt down.
During the PDF retreat, the military council stations in ThiLone and Zigonelay (Pyu Saw Htee) Villages fired 60 mm and 81 mm motor rounds toward Myinchin, and thus about 60 people in the village were evacuated.
Currently, 29 male and 31 female Pyu Saw Htee members were detained following the Prisoner of War Act, and those who were forcibly gathered as Pyu members and ordinary civilians were systematically screened and separately protected.
