SAGAING DIVISION-A military administrator was reportedly shot dead while he was drinking tea at a teashop near Pantalin Monastery, Ward No. 6, Shwebo Town last Wednesday (December 20).
The deceased was found to be Ward No. 6 administrator, Mr. Myat Myo Tun, in his fifties and the gunmen shot him dead on December 20, around noon.
“Four or five shots were fired. It was noon and the shop was (almost) empty, so other people in the teashop were not harmed. The administrator reportedly died on the spot,” a Shwebo resident answered the media.
Mr. Myat Myo Tun is an administrator appointed by the military council and has been traveling together with the military council groups and collecting information on resistance forces.
The administrator reportedly died on the spot after receiving bullet wounds on the back and head.
Residents said that an unknown group of people raided the home of that Ward No. 6 administrator on November 11 night and searched for him. But the administrator had evaded it beforehand and escaped.
No local resistance forces have released statements regarding the elimination of the ward No. 6 administrator.
It was also reported that Shwebo District Fire Department Office in Ward No. 4 was bombed and 2 employees were injured on November 8.
