SHAN STATE – Locals reported that there were two fights between Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the terrorist junta forces on Lashio-Muse Road, near Kutkai Township in Shan (North) State, on August 25.
A local said that the encounters took place at two places, at the viewpoint of Kutkai with the junta convoy coming down from the hill, and near Nawng Swe Village on the way out from Kutkai to Muse.
“Yes, the fights broke out at two points,” he said.
He continued that one of the clashes took place between the lower part of viewpoint and the upper part of Ho Nawng Village at around 5:00 p.m., and another one was between Nawng Swe Village and the lower part of Mai Kon, at around 5:30 p.m., on August 25.
“TNLA combated the junta convoy,” another local confirmed.
The junta convoy with 16 military trucks loading full arms confronted with the Battalion (335) of TNLA’s Brigade (5), while heading to Kutkai from Nam Hpat Kar, and the skirmish occurred near Nawng Swe Village between 5:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m., according to the report of the Information Department of Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF) / Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) on the morning of August 26.
During the battles, there were no casualties on the TNLA side, but there were casualties on the junta side and the details were not yet confirmed.
According to the report, a total of 18 battles took place between TNLA and the atrocious junta forces in northern Shan State from July 23 to August 26.
