KACHIN STATE-The military council attacked the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) headquarters near Laiza with heavy weapons, reported the three brotherhood alliances.
On November 30 at midnight, heavy weapons were fired from the military council’s Khaya Daung artillery battalion camp towards the Laiza area and the Mon Lai Khat camp area where Arakan Army’s (AA) camps were at.
The military council attack was deliberately aimed at Sweet December, which is the most important day for Christians, the alliance forces reported.
Concerning the military situation in the Rakhine region, the Arakan Army (AA) stated that since the start of the operations in the Rakhine region, innocent civilians have been arrested day after day on allegations relating to the AA, and nearly 100 civilians are being forcibly arrested by the Military Council.
The Military Council is reportedly attacking the villages in the Rakhine region with heavy weapons. On November 29, the central military council camp(9) of the Minpya region opened fire arbitrarily towards the nearby villages with heavy weapons. It was reported that four civilians, including a 2-year-old child, were injured when a heavy weapon exploded in Oponetaung village, Minpya township.
From the moment the military council first faced the operations of the resistance forces, they have been losing their strategic camp, and police stations, they are foolhardy and targeting attacks on civilians.
Currently, the military council troops are not only banning the basic human rights of civilians, blocking the roads and the flow of commodities, and cutting off transportation and flow of information(telephone and internet access) but also are banning and restricting more on health and social issues.
