KACHIN STATE – It was reported that Kachin Independence Army (KIA) occupied the junta’s Lailum Aungja outpost, next to Nam San Yang Village on Myitkyina – Bhamo Road, on the morning of September 16.
The KIA captured the junta’s Aungja military base stationed around 50 terrorist junta forces, at around 8:00 a.m., on September 16, according to a KIA front-line source.
“The KIA captured the junta’s military base at around 8:00 a.m. After its outpost was captured, the junta launched aerial attacks with its two fighter jets. The first fighter jet carried out two times bombardments. Another fighter jet shot all over the place,” he said.
At present, the two sides were still firing each other with heavy weapons, so it was difficult to know the extent of the damage.
A resident of Dawt Phone Yang said of his experience that the junta’s air forces launched aerial bombings over the battle ground, at around 8:00 a.m.
“I said the sound of airstrike attacks starting around 8:00 a.m. It was said that the attacks occurred at Nam Sam Yang. I don’t know for sure as it was a little far away from there,” he said.
The Aung Ja Village where the battle occurred, is located on the other side of the stream of Nam Sam Yang Village.
The military tension between KIA and the terrorist army has been going on for about three months since last July.
