SHAN STATE – Massive junta soldiers and junta militia backup thugs surrendered at MNDAA when MNDAA captured Laukkai and a significant amount of weapons, according to a military source from China-Myanmar.
“Town guard forces and the junta backup militia group surrendered. Almost the entire Kokang militia backup group surrendered. The junta troops of Division – 55 also surrendered. MNDAA now controls nearly the entire Laukkai, with only the Laukkai junta camp left,” said a source.
The junta council is carrying out airstrikes to destroy Laukkai, according to the military source in Laukkai. On December 19, battles resumed in Laukkai, even in the downtown area. The junta council soldiers have continuously fired heavy artillery shells and carried out airstrikes, but MNDAA controls most places in Laukkai Downtown.
“MNDAA captured Bai Family’s House, Police Battalion – 21, the junta hideout post, and the camps of militia-backup groups. The junta soldiers and their backup militia also surrendered and left the Laukkai junta camp. We can say that MNDAA controls 80% of Laukkai. The junta council continuously carries out airstrikes on Laukkai. MNDAA might control the entire Laukkai by next January, as only the Laukkai junta camp is left,” added a source.
The meeting, with the negotiation of China, between the Three Brotherhood Alliance and the junta council was postponed. After that, the junta council is carrying out airstrikes on Laukkai day and night with the aim of destroying Laukkai Town.
“The junta council might destroy everything if they couldn’t gain control. They carried out airstrikes in places where MNDAA comrades are not present but civilians’ houses. They destroyed civilians’ houses without apparent reason. They’re not military targets,” said a source in Laukkai.
